Owner: City of Oklahoma City
Category: Municipal

Architect: The Small Group
Contract Amount: $2 - $5 Million
Project Completion: September 2006

In 2005 Lippert Bros., Inc. received a contract with The City of Oklahoma City to renovate the Rock Island Freight Building and add on three connected buildings to establish a permanent home for the Police Department in Bricktown. The existing building was torn down to bare masonry walls with the construction of a new roof system, mechanical and electrical systems, interior finishes and included extensive masonry restoration. The existing building is decorated with period replica fixtures, millwork, flooring, wall and ceiling finishes and will function as a lobby and museum. This building was crowned with a raised stair at the main entry topped with a cast stone and brick kiosk and copper vault.

The balance of the project required the construction of three buildings constructed on raised concrete floors with architecturally finished concrete foundation walls. The new buildings house offices, a lineup room, report rooms, a vehicle storage facility, locker rooms, break room and kitchen.
